Urged by Bosco Ottica’s success, Caffè900, a program broadcast by Canale
Italia television network, interviewed Mr. Alessandro Bosco.

(a ten-minute talk
between history and future)
Mr. Bosco tells
about the birth of his business, from the 1970’s to the development of lasers.
A laser, as Mr. Bosco explains, is the device that converts conventional energy
forms into light energy.
The light
energy, just like water in a hydro-electric penstock or a high-tension line in
a power plant, must be channeled through fibers, handpieces, focus lenses, in
order to be effectively utilized. This is one of Bosco Ottica’s competences.
The interview
does not just deal with optical fibers, that are the natural vehicle for light.
Bosco Ottica has been developing, unequalled in our country and as few other
companies all over the world, technologies for concentrating and focusing light
energy with high efficiency and record fluences.
All this
enabled Bosco Ottica to meet with great success mainly in the medical field,
both cosmetic-aesthetic and surgical, with its three versions (with spacer, contact,
and endo), and , at the same time, allowed it to enter, through
experimentation, other industrial-scientific fields such as micromachining,
marking, restoration of frescoes and monuments, gold engraving and so on.
A story of
passion, determination and competence that, inevitably, led to excellence.
